Customer Success

The first two weeks a user spends on Logistics & Beyond determines whether they become a paying advocate or a silent detractor. You will own that window β€” and everything after it. From the onboarding call to the first shipment to the renewal conversation, you are the reason our users stay, grow, and refer their network. This is not a support role. It is a growth role disguised as a care role.

  • Own the onboarding experience for every new user β€” personal calls within 24 hours for Logistics Managers and Freight Forwarders, WhatsApp onboarding flows for Transporters
  • Drive activation: ensure every new user processes their first shipment, bid, or POD within the first 7 days
  • Monitor user health signals β€” login frequency, order volume, feature adoption β€” and intervene before churn happens
  • Run the First Two Weeks experience programme: structured touchpoints, progress check-ins, and milestone celebrations
  • Identify and develop power users who can become platform evangelists and case study subjects
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with Enterprise-tier accounts, demonstrating ROI and uncovering expansion opportunities
  • Manage the NPS programme β€” survey, analyse, and close the feedback loop with users and product
  • Build and maintain a library of user success stories, turning outcomes into case studies with the marketing team
  • Own the reactivation playbook for churned or dormant users
  • Be the voice of the user in internal planning β€” surfacing patterns from user conversations to product, marketing, and leadership
You need
  • 3+ years in customer success, account management, or a user-facing role at a B2B SaaS or marketplace company
  • Proven track record of improving retention and reducing churn
  • Excellent communication skills β€” able to build genuine trust with both corporate logistics managers and independent truck owners
  • Comfortable on the phone and on WhatsApp β€” this role works across every channel your users use
  • Data-driven: able to read a dashboard, identify at-risk accounts, and act on signals without being told

  • Experience in logistics, freight, or supply chain β€” you understand the industry you're serving
  • Conversational Swahili β€” essential for building rapport with transporters and smaller operators

The entire Logistics & Beyond platform β€” order management, bidding engine, document generation, transporter workflows, warehouse management, and payment processing β€” runs on Laravel. You will be the engineer who owns it, scales it, and ships the features that turn trial users into long-term subscribers. You will work directly with the Product Manager and a React Native mobile developer in a small, fast-moving team where your code ships to real users on real trade corridors.

  • Own the Laravel backend β€” architecture decisions, code quality, performance, and security
  • Build and maintain the REST API consumed by the web platform and the React Native mobile app
  • Develop new platform features across the order lifecycle: bidding, assignment, tracking, document generation, and POD workflows
  • Own the Pesapal and M-Pesa payment integration β€” subscription billing, escrow flows, and transporter payment disbursement
  • Build and maintain the Livewire components powering interactive platform features (pricing, ROI calculator, dashboards)
  • Implement and maintain the WhatsApp Business API integration for transporter notifications and status updates
  • Design and optimise the database schema as platform data volumes grow across five countries
  • Build and maintain background job queues for document generation, notifications, and data processing
  • Set up and maintain the CI/CD pipeline, staging environments, and deployment process
  • Review code, mentor junior developers as the team grows, and enforce engineering standards
You need
  • 4+ years building production applications in Laravel β€” you know the framework deeply, not just its surface
  • Strong MySQL or PostgreSQL β€” able to design schemas, write performant queries, and manage migrations at scale
  • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs consumed by mobile applications
  • Hands-on experience with Laravel Livewire, queues, and scheduled tasks

Partnerships opens doors with associations and institutions. You close deals with the people who actually move cargo. Your targets are Logistics Managers at mid-to-large manufacturers, importers, and traders, and Operations Directors at freight forwarding companies across East Africa. You will run demos, handle objections from buyers who have been burned by platforms before, and convert trial users into paying subscribers. This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role in an industry where trust is the only currency that matters.

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close for Logistics Manager and Freight Forwarder accounts
  • Run platform demos β€” live, product-led demonstrations tailored to each prospect's specific corridors, cargo types, and pain points
  • Work the ROI calculator with prospects: calculate their actual freight cost savings and time savings before asking for a decision
  • Handle objections from buyers who have tried and abandoned previous logistics platforms β€” this is the primary objection you will face and you must handle it with evidence, not promises
  • Manage a pipeline of 30–50 active prospects across the Professional and Enterprise tiers
  • Convert free trial users to paid subscribers within the 14-day trial window
  • Identify upsell opportunities within existing accounts β€” moving Starter users to Professional, Professional to Enterprise
  • Collaborate with Customer Success on account handover β€” ensuring every won deal has a clear onboarding plan
  • Feed market intelligence back to the Product Manager: what objections keep coming up, what features are blocking deals, what competitors are doing
  • Represent Logistics & Beyond at industry events in Nairobi and Mombasa
You need
  • 3+ years in B2B sales β€” ideally selling SaaS, technology, or a services product to mid-market companies
  • Comfortable running product demonstrations to senior operations and procurement professionals
  • Track record of consistently hitting or exceeding a sales quota
  • Strong objection handling β€” specifically experienced with "we tried something like this before and it didn't work"
  • Based in Nairobi or Mombasa β€” this role requires in-person meetings with prospects

Design

Our platform serves five very different types of users β€” from a CFO-level logistics manager in a Nairobi office building to a truck owner checking cargo availability on a $100 Android phone at a weigh bridge on the Mombasa highway. You will design for both of them without compromising either. This is a full product design role: research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and the design system that holds it all together across web and mobile.

  • Own the end-to-end design process across all five user personas β€” from research and wireframes to production-ready Figma specifications
  • Design and maintain the Logistics & Beyond design system: typography, colour, components, spacing, and interaction patterns used across web and mobile
  • Lead UX research β€” user interviews, usability testing, and field observation with real transporters and logistics managers on East African corridors
  • Design the React Native mobile app experience in close collaboration with the Mobile Developer β€” with a relentless focus on performance and usability on low-end Android devices
  • Own the onboarding experience design across all five user roles β€” the First Two Weeks flows that determine whether users see value or abandon the platform
  • Create marketing design assets: landing page components, social media templates, email templates, and event materials
  • Conduct regular usability testing with real users and feed insights back to product and engineering
  • Design for accessibility and low-bandwidth environments β€” your users often have intermittent 3G, not fast Wi-Fi
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure design intent survives implementation β€” reviewing builds and iterating until the detail is right
You need
  • 3+ years as a product designer β€” a portfolio of shipped web and mobile products, not just concepts
  • Expert-level Figma β€” components, auto-layout, variables, and design systems you would be comfortable handing to engineers
