Accessibility Statement

We are committed to making Logistics & Beyond accessible to every logistics professional across East Africa β€” regardless of ability or assistive technology.

Effective: 1 January 2025
Last updated: 1 January 2025
Standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

1 Our Commitment

β™Ώ
Logistics & Beyond is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe every logistics professional in East Africa deserves equal access to tools that improve their working lives.

We are actively working to ensure that our platform β€” including our website at logisticsandbeyond.co.ke, our web application, and all associated digital services β€” conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

This statement applies to all pages and features of the Logistics & Beyond platform. We review and update this statement annually or whenever significant platform changes are made.

2 Accessibility Standards

Our platform is designed and developed to conform to the following standards:

Target standard
WCAG 2.1
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA β€” the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility.
Mobile
WCAG 2.1
Mobile accessibility guidelines covering touch targets, zoom, orientation, and screen reader compatibility on smartphones.
Compliance
KE DPA
Kenya Persons with Disabilities Act 2003 β€” we recognise our obligations to provide equitable access to digital services.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is structured around four core principles. Our platform is designed to be:

  • Perceivable β€” content is available to all senses. Text alternatives for non-text content, captions for media, and sufficient colour contrast throughout the interface.
  • Operable β€” all functionality is available via keyboard. No keyboard traps. Sufficient time to complete tasks. No content that flashes more than three times per second.
  • Understandable β€” text is readable, language is declared, navigation is consistent, and errors are clearly identified and described.
  • Robust β€” content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies including screen readers, magnifiers, and voice input tools.

3 Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features are implemented across the Logistics & Beyond platform:

  • Keyboard navigation β€” all interactive elements including forms, buttons, menus, and modals are fully operable by keyboard alone. Focus order follows a logical visual sequence.
  • Skip navigation link β€” a "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repeated navigation.
  • Screen reader compatibility β€” semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA landmarks, labels, and roles are used throughout to ensure compatibility with screen reader software.
  • Colour contrast β€” all text meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Text alternatives β€” all informational images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes.
  • Resizable text β€” text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. The platform reflows gracefully at all zoom levels.
  • Form accessibility β€” all form inputs are labelled, error messages are descriptive and associated with the relevant field, and required fields are clearly identified.
  • Focus indicators β€” visible focus indicators are present on all interactive elements when navigating by keyboard.
  • Language declaration β€” the HTML lang attribute is correctly set for all pages, supporting screen reader pronunciation and language-specific processing.
  • Consistent navigation β€” navigation menus, headers, and footers are consistent across all pages of the platform.
  • Session timeout warnings β€” users are warned before session timeouts and given the option to extend their session.
  • Document accessibility β€” shipping documents, waybills, and other generated PDFs include accessible text layers where technically feasible.

4 Known Issues & Limitations

⚠️
We are committed to transparency. The following known accessibility limitations exist on our platform. We are actively working to resolve each of them and will update this statement as issues are addressed.
  • Interactive maps β€” some route and corridor visualisation maps may not be fully accessible via keyboard or screen reader. We are implementing text-based alternatives for all map data.
  • Data tables β€” complex bid comparison tables on the dashboard may not read in the optimal order with all screen reader configurations. Table header associations are being reviewed.
  • Third-party widgets β€” our demo booking calendar and live chat widget are provided by third-party providers. While we have selected providers with accessibility commitments, some limitations may exist. Contact us directly at hello@logisticsandbeyond.co.ke if you experience barriers with these tools.
  • PDF documents β€” some legacy document templates may not include full PDF accessibility tags. We are updating all templates to include proper heading structure and reading order.
  • Video content β€” platform walkthrough videos currently lack closed captions. We are adding captions to all existing and new video content by Q3 2025.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier not listed here, please report it using the contact details in Section 8.

5 Assistive Technology Support

The Logistics & Beyond platform has been tested with and is designed to support the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers β€” NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Voice control β€” Dragon NaturallySpeaking (Windows), Voice Control (macOS), Voice Access (Android)
  • Screen magnification β€” Windows Magnifier, macOS Zoom, ZoomText
  • Keyboard-only navigation β€” fully supported across all browsers on Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Switch access β€” basic switch access navigation is supported

For optimal accessibility, we recommend using the platform with an up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari alongside your preferred assistive technology.

6 Third-Party Content

Some content and features on the Logistics & Beyond platform are provided by third-party services. These include our payment gateway, demo booking system, and live support chat. While we select third-party providers with accessibility commitments, we cannot guarantee full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for content outside our direct control.

If a third-party tool creates a barrier to your use of the platform, please contact us directly and we will provide an accessible alternative method to complete your task.

7 Mobile Accessibility

The Logistics & Beyond platform is fully mobile-optimised and designed to work with mobile assistive technologies including TalkBack on Android and VoiceOver on iOS.

  • All touch targets meet the minimum size of 44Γ—44 CSS pixels recommended by WCAG 2.5.5
  • The platform supports both portrait and landscape orientation without loss of content
  • Pinch-to-zoom is not blocked β€” users can magnify any page
  • The platform functions correctly at the OS-level large text settings on both iOS and Android
  • Gestures are not the only method to complete any task β€” all actions have tap or keyboard equivalents

Our dedicated iOS and Android apps are currently in development. Accessibility will be a core requirement of the mobile app specification, and this statement will be updated when the apps launch.
