Acceptable Use Policy

This policy defines how you may use the Logistics & Beyond platform and protects all users across our East African marketplace.

1 Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs your access to and use of the Logistics & Beyond platform, including our website at logisticsandbeyond.co.ke, mobile applications, APIs, and all associated services (collectively, the "Platform").

By registering for or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Policy in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to all users, including Logistics Managers, Freight Forwarders, Transporters, Warehouse Managers, Customers, and any other persons accessing the Platform.

Logistics & Beyond is a professional marketplace platform. We expect all users to conduct themselves with honesty, professionalism, and respect for fellow users and the integrity of the East African logistics ecosystem.

2 Permitted Use

You are permitted to use the Platform for the following legitimate business purposes:

  • Creating, submitting, and managing shipment orders as a Logistics Manager
  • Submitting competitive bids on shipment orders as a Freight Forwarder or Transporter
  • Listing available warehouse capacity and managing inventory as a Warehouse Manager
  • Tracking shipment progress and confirming deliveries as a Customer or Consignee
  • Generating and storing shipping documents, waybills, and proof of delivery records
  • Communicating with other verified platform users regarding active orders and bids
  • Managing your company profile, portfolio, and service credentials
  • Accessing platform analytics and reports relevant to your account and role
  • Integrating approved third-party tools and services through our official API

3 Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Platform. Violation may result in immediate account suspension and legal action.

Zero tolerance: Fraud, impersonation, and interference with the integrity of the bidding marketplace will result in permanent account termination and referral to relevant authorities.

Fraudulent and deceptive conduct

  • Providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information in your profile, bids, or documents
  • Impersonating another company, individual, or logistics provider
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits or bidding restrictions
  • Submitting bids without genuine intention or capacity to fulfil the shipment
  • Accepting payment for services you do not intend to deliver
  • Fabricating proof of delivery, warehouse receipts, or any other documentation

Platform interference

  • Attempting to access, scrape, or extract platform data without written authorisation
  • Introducing malware, viruses, or harmful code into the Platform
  • Circumventing or disabling any security, authentication, or access control features
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive the Platform's source code
  • Using automated bots, scripts, or tools to submit bids or interact with the Platform
  • Overloading platform infrastructure through excessive automated requests

Illegal and harmful activities

  • Using the Platform to facilitate the transport of prohibited, controlled, or illegal goods
  • Violating any applicable law including Kenyan, Tanzanian, Ugandan, Rwandan, or international trade regulations
  • Engaging in money laundering, tax evasion, or other financial crimes through the Platform
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users through the Platform's messaging system
  • Discriminating against users based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or any protected characteristic

Competitive misuse

  • Using the Platform to recruit other users' employees, clients, or partners for competing services
  • Soliciting users to transact outside the Platform to avoid fees or contractual obligations
  • Sharing confidential platform data, bid information, or user details with competitors

4 Content Standards

All content you submit to the Platform β€” including company profiles, service descriptions, shipment listings, bids, messages, and documents β€” must meet the following standards:

  • Accurate and truthful β€” no misrepresentation of services, capacity, or credentials
  • Professional in tone β€” respectful and appropriate for a business marketplace
  • Relevant β€” directly related to logistics, freight, transport, or warehousing services
  • Free from offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate material
  • Compliant with applicable intellectual property laws β€” do not infringe third-party copyrights or trademarks
  • Written in English, Swahili, or French β€” languages supported by the Platform

Logistics & Beyond reserves the right to remove any content that violates this Policy or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Platform community or its integrity.

5 Account Conduct

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:

  • Keep your login credentials confidential and not share access with unauthorised persons
  • Notify us immediately at security@logisticsandbeyond.co.ke if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Ensure that any team members added to your account understand and comply with this Policy
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date company and contact information in your profile
  • Not transfer your account, subscription, or associated rights to any third party without our written consent

6 Transactions & Bids

The bidding and transaction system is the core of the Logistics & Beyond marketplace. To maintain its integrity:

  • All bids submitted must reflect genuine pricing and genuine capacity to fulfil the order
  • Accepted bids constitute a binding commitment between the bidder and the order creator
  • Bid manipulation β€” including coordinating with other users to fix prices or suppress competition β€” is strictly prohibited
  • Cancelling accepted bids without valid cause will be treated as a violation of this Policy and may result in account penalties
  • All payments facilitated through the Platform must be processed through our approved payment channels
  • Circumventing the Platform's payment system to avoid service fees is a material breach of your agreement with us

7 Reporting Violations

If you believe another user is violating this Policy, please report it promptly. We take all reports seriously and investigate them confidentially.

You can report a violation by:

  1. Using the "Report" button available on any user profile, bid, or message thread
  2. Emailing our Trust & Safety team at trust@logisticsandbeyond.co.ke
  3. Contacting our support team via the platform's live chat during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–6pm EAT)

Reports are treated confidentially. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party without your consent or unless required by law.

8 Consequences of Violation

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, Logistics & Beyond may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Issue a formal warning and require corrective action
  • Temporarily suspend access to specific Platform features
  • Suspend your account pending investigation
  • Permanently terminate your account without refund of any subscription fees
  • Remove any content, bids, orders, or documents associated with the violation
  • Report the violation to relevant regulatory authorities or law enforcement agencies
  • Pursue civil or criminal legal action where the violation involves fraud or illegal conduct

We will use reasonable judgement in determining the appropriate response and will consider the context, severity, history, and impact of each reported violation.

9 Policy Updates

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, applicable law, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send an email notification to all registered account holders
  • Display an in-platform notification for 14 days following the update

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
